To modernize and streamline documentation for legacy applications built on RPG within the AS/400 ecosystem. The goal is to generate clear, accurate technical documentation and a consolidated knowledge repository that accelerates enhancements, improves onboarding, and reduces dependency on scarce legacy system expertise.

 

Solution:

A Generative AI–powered documentation engine was implemented to analyze legacy RPG code and automatically produce structured documentation, including program logic summaries, data flows, dependency mappings, and functional descriptions.
This solution centralizes insights into a searchable knowledge repository, enabling both enhancement teams and sustainment teams to quickly retrieve critical information without manually decoding legacy code.
